Enhancements for MOLGENIS on various levels

This is the index for future enhancements of MOLGENIS. Current list of ideas:

Core

• MultiColXrefs? — Enable xrefs to be of form xref_label='experiment.name,sample.name'

Generators

• JpaGenerator? — Add the Java Persistency Api  JPA annotation system as alternative backend to MOLGENIS
• GwtGenerator? — Add the Google Web Toolkit  GWT as generation target for Rich UIs
• GalaxyGenerator? — Integrate the  Galaxy XML model into MOLGENIS for processing tools
• OgsiFramework? — Use the  OGSi framework to integrate MOLGENIS plugins at runtime

Plugins

MOLGENIS has a plugin system. See MolgenisPluginFramework; these plugins can be of general use. Current plugin projects:

• OntologyBrowserPlugin? — Integrate ontology sources like  OLS and  BioPortal
• DataMatrixPlugin? — Show matrix type data in rows * columns form
• AccountManagerPlugin? — Enable users to register and login into a MOLGENIS
• QueryPlugin? — Enable users to freely query MOLGENIS similar to  BioMart and  InterMine
